There were a number of category wins for BNECC members at Litherland on Wednesday (8/5). Jeff Vernon won the senior/junior event, Max Spedding and Jack Hulme were 1st and 2nd respectively in the Youth cat A boys event, Louise Colyer 1st in the Youth cat A girls race and Charlie Byrne 2nd in the Youth E event. The Isle of Man Youth Tour was held over the bank holiday weekend (3-5 May). Nicole and Andrew Clarke took part in the tour which was composed of three stages. After 3 stages Nicole won the Youth C Girls category (placed 2nd in stage 1 and 1st in stages 2 & 3). Andrew was 5th overall in the Youth E Boys category. A full report of the race can be found here.

The Omniplex Bioracer TLI road race was held on the 28/4/13. Dave Berry was 3rd overall in the under 50s race and first in the senior category. Keith Jones was 6th overall in the under 50s race and 2nd in the M2 category. Steve Molyneux was 10th overall in the under 50s race and 2nd in the B category.

19/6/13 – 10 miles at Pulford (HQ Straight Mile)

03/07/13 – 10 miles at Pulford (HQ Straight Mile)

17/7/13 – 5 miles along Clatterbridge Road (HQ layby by Benty Heath Lane)

Entry to the league is £18 (cheques to be made payable to BNECC). Private trials £3 for seniors and £2 for juniors.

The 2nd race of the national mountain bike XC series was held in Cornwall on Sunday (28/4/13). Craig Rogers was 6th in the under 14s event and was first of the “first year” under 14s. Craig also overtook some of the under 16s who had started ahead of him!

The North West youth circuit championships were held in Southport on Saturday (27/4/13). Max Spedding was 12th in a strong field in the Youth A boys category. Nicole Clarke was 2nd in the Youth C girls category, narrowly missing a win. New BNECC member, Andrew Clarke, was 4th in the Youth E category.

The 3rd race in the Welsh mountain bike series was held at Builth Wells on Sunday. Rob Rogers (BNECC) won the juniors event even though he was 30 seconds down until the last lap. Rob’s brother Craig was 4th in the under 14s event. Nicole Clarke was 1st girl in the under 12s category.

Sunday’s TLI road race was held at Audlem. BNECC’s Dave Berry (senior), Keith Jones (M2) and Steve Molyneux (45-49) all took part in the road race. Keith Jones won the M2 race, with Steve Molyneux getting 3rd in his category. Dave Berry in his first road race finished 6th in the senior category winning the bunch sprint.
