The Paramount CRC 3/4 BC road race was held in Shropshire on Sunday (30/06). Three riders, including Mike Garner, got together with 4 of the 6 laps remaining on this hilly course. At one stage they managed to gain an advantage of just over one minute on the main bunch. In the closing stages of the race the bunch was chasing hard and two riders from the break were caught. Mike Garner just held off the chasing bunch up the final climb to gain his first win of the season.

Five BNECC members raced at Litherland on Wednesday evening (26/6). Jeff Vernon was 8th in the 2/3/4 race. Louise Colyer 1st in the under 16 girls (only girl). Richard Morris and Craig Rogers 3rd and 5th respectively in the under 14 boys race. Charlie Byrne 4th in the under 8s race. Results can be found here.

Tuesday’s (25/6) TLI evening road race organised by Seamons CC was held at the Allostock circuit. The under 45s was a fast paced race with a number of attacks which led to a successful break staying away with just over a lap and a half to go. BNECC members Brad Smith and Mike Garner were in the break. A sprint finish saw Brad 2nd and Mike 4th. Keith Jones was 6th winning the bunch sprint and Scott Smith 7th. Three BNECC members rode at the Litherland circuit league on Wednesday. Jeff Vernon was 5th in the 2/3 category with Richard Morris 4th and Danny Harrison 7th in the Youth B boys category. Full results can be found here.

The third in the series of the CDNW youth league was held in Blackpool over last weekend (15/6/13). Max Spedding only narrowly lost out on a win in the first of the under 16 boys races to Ryan McGillick. Max was then 4th in the second race. Full results and a race report can be found here.

The last of the TLI Oulton Park series was held on Tuesday (18/6). In the under 40s event club members, Mike Garner, Mark Donnelly and Max Spedding ( a youth rider), worked hard to help Keith Jones win the event and the overall series. In the over 40s event, Steve Molyneux, Scott Smith, Stuart Hannah and Clive Wilkinson rode. Scott Smith was third in this event.

The Stafford Grand Prix Road Race (2/3/4) was held on Sunday (16/6) at Penkridge. The 63 mile race saw Jeff Vernon in 9th pace and Mike Garner in 10th. A report and race results can be found here.

A number of the youth BNECC riders competed in the Litherland circuit league on Wednesday. Louise Colyer was 1st under 16 girl (only girl), Danny Harrison was 7th in the under 14 boys, and Charlie Byrne 3rd in the under 8s. Full results can be found by here. The WCTTA 10 mile TT was held on Wednesday (12/6) at Pulford in near perfect weather conditions. Mike Garner was second overall with a PB of 20.30 (Dave Crawley, Wrexham Fibrax won with 19.53). Other BNECC riders included Mark Donnelly 22.33, Ian Clark 23.11, Pete Davies 23.20 and George Aldridge 23.42.

The BC National Cross Country MTB Series Round 3  was held at Hopton Castle, Shropshire on the 1st June 2013. Craig Rogers was 9th in the Juvenile Male category (the majority of competitors who beat him are a year older than Craig). Rob Rogers was also 9th in the Junior Male category (a number of competitors who beat Rob are in the Olympic training squad). Full results can be found by clicking here.
