Report from Geoff Brandt:
“Four North Enders turned out for Friday’s track league at the new Huyton velodrome on Longview Drive . Dickie Morris & Ashley Maloney rode in the youth A & B group, Ritchie placing strongly in all events scoring 4 points, following a few weeks of competitive experience at Litherland and a thirst for success. Max Spedding & Geoff Brandt both rode in the senior group including 6 youth A riders with dispensation to “ride up”. The competition was at a good level and Max held his own, with a particularly good 2nd place in the final 15 lap scratch where he was part of a 3 man break in the last couple of laps. The three boys had never experienced track racing and performed really well. They all rode on club bikes, 2 of them recently purchased from Newport velodrome. Donations of more track gear will be most welcome. ”
