CLUB CENTENARY DINNER

The club's annual dinner and prize presentation will take place on Saturday 18^th November 2000 at the Woodhey Hotel, Ledsham. Tickets are now available at the clubroom, price £16.50 or contact Harry Mahar (645 5159) or Peter Byrne (336 5804) (or Ruaraidh - bnecc@bigfoot.com). This is also a celebration of the clubs Centenary. Guests include John Helms, Ian Steel and Bev Wood.

We want this to be a memorable occasion and therefore need the support of all our members, so please buy your tickets now!!

PHOTO BOARD

In addition to our usual photo display at the club dinner, I am hoping to display photographs going back over the past 100 years !!

Any suitable photographs of Northenders from the distant or not so distant past would be appreciated. I will be able to copy the originals and return them promptly so dig some out!

CLUB TRACK NIGHT

The club track night on the 5th October was very well supported with many riders trying the boards for the first time.

Clive Walmsley coached the session and did an excellent job, although more help with signing on would be very much appreciated.

CLUB TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP

A reminder that the November 30^th track night is also the club track championship. Also in response to members wishes the club track nights will be moved to Sundays next year.

21^st January 2001…..10am-1pm
18^th February 2001…10am-1pm
18^th March 2001……10am-1pm
15^th April 2001……..10am-1pm

Members without track bikes will need to hire one. Call the velodrome on 0161 233 2244 in advance!

One of our young juveniles is looking to buy a racing machine for next season, 21 inch and 9-speed Shimano.

WREXHAM HILL CLIMB

Congratulations to new member Susan Massey, who was best schoolgirl with 17.02 winning her category in her first ever event. Her older brother (Andrew) didn’t do quite as well finishing second schoolboy with 12.22.

CLUB WEEKEND

CLUB HILL CLIMB

The club hill climb is on the 22^nd October 2000. We will be competing on Hope Mountain (or in my case ‘no hope’). All meet at the Mills at 9.30amto ride out to the climb. There will be a special prize for all the juveniles that compete!!

(Why have a special prize for juveniles? We all know it'll probably be one of them that wins it! There should be a special prize for all the lardy-arses who take part! Such as myself! Why should I have to suffer so much?! I propose a prize for everyone over 13 stone who takes part. Do I hear a seconder? Well? Is there anybody there? ........... Ruaraidh)
