On the 29th of September a Memorial Ride will be held for Mel. Two routes will be used, with distances of 50 or 90 miles. Departure is between 9:00 and 10:30 am from the Eureka Café, with the return check-in closing at 4pm. Cost of entry is £5, with monies raised going towards purchasing Memorial Benches. See the poster for more details.

A memorial site for Mel has been set up at http://mel-vasey.gonetoosoon.co.uk. You can visit, read tributes from family and friends, and leave your own tribute.

We would request that Ellesmere Port & Neston Borough Council and Cheshire County Council consider the following:

  1. Where it is not already so, reduce the speed limit on the A540 to 40 mph. The aim of this is to protect slow speed road users and traffic crossing the A540, and reduce the danger of glare from the winter sun rising in the South East.
  2. Improve the safety of cyclists through application of suitable and appropriate safety measures.

How Can You Help?

Write to Cheshire County Council, outlining your support for this plan, and asking for their consideration. Write to:
